In today’s rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, innovation is no longer optional—it’s essential. At Arthur Health, we are proud to be at the forefront of this transformation, driven by our CEO and co-founder, Dr. Nizar Mahomed, whose leadership was recently highlighted in The Leaders Globe magazine.
From Surgeon to Visionary Leader
Dr. Mahomed’s journey began in the operating room as an orthopedic surgeon at the University of Toronto. His pursuit of advanced degrees in health policy from Harvard equipped him with a unique perspective: combining clinical expertise with system-level thinking. This dual lens became the foundation for Arthur Health’s mission—to deliver value-based, patient-centric care that improves outcomes and experiences for every individual we serve.
The Birth of Arthur Health
Founded in 2017 by Dr. Mahomed, Dr. Christian Veillette, and Dr. Raj Rampersaud, Arthur Health was built on a simple yet powerful principle: the right care, at the right time, by the right provider. Our approach integrates hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centres under one digital framework, ensuring seamless coordination across the continuum of care.
One of our proudest achievements is the Ontario Workers Network (OWN), a clinically integrated network serving injured workers. With 23 partner organizations, OWN has delivered over 750,000 services to more than 37,000 Ontarians, exemplifying our commitment to efficient, coordinated care closer to home.
Driving Innovation Through Technology
Arthur Health’s strength lies in its proprietary digital infrastructure. Our Arthur Care platform unites tools for real-time navigation, clinical decision-making, and business management—creating a seamless experience for patients and providers. In 2024, we introduced Arthur Care Nexus, an upgraded platform built on Microsoft technologies, integrating AI-powered tools like Copilot and Fabric for Healthcare. This leap enables predictive analytics, administrative efficiency, and clinical insights, empowering healthcare professionals to deliver smarter, more connected care.
Innovation in healthcare isn't just about technology—it's about people, partnerships, and purpose. We're building systems that are smarter, more connected, and ultimately more human.

Collaboration and Purpose
Innovation isn’t just about technology—it’s about people and partnerships. Arthur Health fosters a collaborative culture where every voice matters, from clinicians to IT specialists. Guided by the quadruple aim—better outcomes, lower costs, and improved satisfaction for patients and providers—we continue to evolve as a learning organization, adapting to Ontario’s most pressing healthcare challenges.
Transforming Tomorrow’s Healthcare
As Dr. Mahomed shared in his feature, “We’re building systems that are smarter, more connected, and ultimately more human.” Through technology and teamwork, Arthur Health is redefining care delivery—making it more accessible, efficient, and compassionate.
